Opening to Wisdom through Kindness: Insight Dialogue retreat

Opening to Wisdom through Kindness: Insight Dialogue retreat

Mettā, or kindness, is that quality in our hearts that looks with benevolence and patience 'to all as to myself’. Kindness supports and protects us in our lives. And though it is also of great importance to our path of awakening, many of us cannot always easily access the friendliness in our hearts.
In this Insight Dialogue retreat we will nurture the development of mettā and explore how mettā supports insight and freedom of heart.

Where would we be without kindness? That quality in our hearts that looks with benevolence and patience 'to all as to myself’. Kindness, or mettā, supports and protects us in our lives. And though it is also of great importance to our path of awakening, many of us cannot always easily access this quality of heart.
In this Insight Dialogue retreat we will nurture the development of mettā and explore how mettā supports insight and freedom of heart.
You are warmly invited to be part of this shared field of practice.

Insight Dialogue is a fully engaged relational meditation practice. It brings together meditative awareness, the wisdom teachings of the Buddha, and the power of relationship to support insight into the nature, source, and release of human suffering.

The retreat will be held in Social Silence as we explore the power of listening and speaking out of silence. There will be times of silent sitting, mindful movement, and dialogue in groups of 2 or more, with a precise direction of contemplation. Teachings will be offered in English.

This retreat is suitable for all with or without prior Insight Dialogue experience. Prior meditation experience is advised, retreat experience is suggested. We welcome ID facilitators/teachers and mindfulness trainers. If you have questions about the suitability of this retreat please contact Riët Aarsse at dutch.idretreat@gmail.com.

This retreat is offered in the Buddhist tradition of dana and generosity. The teachers receive no payment. The registration fee covers the costs of putting on the retreat. Financial support offered by the students at the end of the retreat enables the teachers to continue their work throughout the world.
